Job Title: Finance Coordinator – Accounts Receivable
Department: Finance

Pay Rate: $28.85 Hourly
Summary
Responsible for tracking, processing, posting, and reconciling daily cash receipts. Performs other day-to-day tasks of the Finance Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Monitor and reconcile daily cash receipts and handling of cash from Clinic and Shelter software per documented SOP.
Input daily program revenue journal entries in general ledger applying FASB/GAAP principles.
Monitor and analyze exam and trap loan deposits, input adjusting journal entries to shift balances from deferred liabilities to earned income as services are fulfilled.
Record program receivables and ensure collection.
Record cash received from the organization’s programs through multiple online platforms.
Prepare daily cash deposits into Brinks safe and deposit checks to the appropriate bank account using the bank’s remote deposit system.
Deposit daily donations and reconcile with the Development department gift batch.
Maintain and reconcile multiple merchant accounts. Monitor and respond to inquiries and chargeback requests. Provide operational departments with support for credit card transactions and devices.
Extract and reconcile data to generate reports on pet license fees collected on behalf of the county, facilitating proper disbursement and reporting protocols to Palm Beach Animal Care and Control via PetData.
Collect company credit card receipts and enter charges into accounts payable module, allocating expenses across departments and programs.
Record weekly payroll journal entry.
Prepare and submit sales tax returns.
Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations, research and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare various month-end journal entries.
Ensure compliance with internal and external finance deadlines.
Crosstrain with the Finance Coordinator – Accounts Payable.
Interface and cooperate with other departments within the organization, as well as vendors and banking institutions.
Train staff in other departments on required Accounts Receivable processes, including proper forms completion and submission (i.e. chain of custody, inventory, etc.).
Provide supporting schedules for the interim and annual independent financial audit.
Prepare analysis and concise Excel spreadsheets, as requested by Director of Finance.
Support the development staff for fundraising events, as needed.
Qualifications

Must have detailed knowledge of operations and departments of the organization.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have considerable knowledge of budgetary principles and practices.
Must be detail oriented.
Must have ability to gather, organize, correlate, and analyze facts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Possess valid Florida driver license and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge, Blackbaud Raisers Edge, AvidXchange, and QuickBooks, preferred.
Must be a critical thinker who can effectively identify and evaluate problems, display sound judgment in resolving problems, and know when it is appropriate to ask for assistance.
Non-profit accounting experience, preferred.
Education & Experience
Associate’s degree with accounting focus
Minimum three years related accounting experience; and/or combination of equivalent education and experience
